When I was three years old I had Legg-Calve-Perthes Disease in my left hip. My left hip was rebuilt when I was five. After two years of sporadic pain and difficulties walking my left hip failed on October 14th 2006. This is my blog of the journey I am going through to re-gain my health and again establish a normal, stable and healthy adult life.

You may subscribe to my blogs RSS Feed RSS Feed. If you had Legg-Calve-Perthes Disease as a child or your child now has this disease you may benefit from the support group I co-moderate.

I received my MRI results

Thursday May 31st, 2007

My MRI has been read. The ball is flat, there is a tear in the cartilage, there is fluid build up and arthritis is starting to set in.

I spent 2 hours at a physiotherapy clinic yesterday. They told me I need a surgeon. They were evaluating my muscles so they could develop an exercise program so I will quickly recover from a total hip replacement surgery.

I am going to see a rehab doctor to review my MRI in 45 minutes and am going to see my family doctor at 3:45 this afternoon to get better pain management. I can let each of you know what happens later today.
