When I was three years old I had Legg-Calve-Perthes Disease in my left hip. My left hip was rebuilt when I was five. After two years of sporadic pain and difficulties walking my left hip failed on October 14th 2006. This is my blog of the journey I am going through to re-gain my health and again establish a normal, stable and healthy adult life.

The most painful 24 hours yet ...

Saturday June 16th, 2007

I am in so much pain today. I can't believe it. The cartilage in my hip has been "popping". I am not sure if you remember me saying that was the diagnosis from my MRI. I was back to hospital last night. I went to have an x-ray of my hip done to make sure nothing else was wrong ... that it was indeed the cartilage ... it was. The x-rays haven't shown a change since October of 2006 when this all began.

I took today off work sick. I am working at a call center. I spent 14 hours in bed. When I got out of bed and walked down the stairs the cartilage popped again and instantly I was back in the pain I was in last night. I called the specialist office who referred me to the surgeon to see if they could speed up my appointment from July 20th or give me any advice about the popping.

It feels like the pain some days is driving me mad.

I am going to lie down again.
