An Assessment Of My Incision By An Orthopaedic Team Doctor

I have seen a member of the orthopaedic team (a doctor) at the hospital where my artificial hip was replaced on April 2nd 2025.
I received about 10 pages worth of discharge instructions on April 8th. This was broke down by topic. What I've learned today is that this was completely inappropriate for the operation I had. In addition the nurses told me to expect similar information that was never going to apply to me. What the printed discharge instructions I received are designed for individuals who had hip surgery but not 7 operations on the same hip. As a result almost every conclusion I've made has been under false pretenses.
The orthopaedic doctor today applied liquid medicine to my incision that simply prevents infection from growing. Also all the fluid that came out of my incision last night was seen on the ultrasound my local hospital did yesterday afternoon. No one told me to expect this to happen. The only thing I got right was that my incision is weak. They applied a style of stitches to strengthen it.
The last thing worth saying is that the orthopaedic team doctor gave me a very technical explanation of everything. I appreciated this. I needed new information to replace the discharge instructions I received.
