Assessment Of My Incision Opening At The Hospital Emergency Department Where I Had My Surgery
[ Saturday July 5th 2025 at 2:45 pm ]

I have come back to the emergency department of the hospital where I was operated on in April 2025. My incision has opened for a 7th time to drain. I am physically depleted. I need to talk to a doctor. The emergency department doctor who saw me was the same who contacted the on call orthopaedic team doctor to assist me on April 27th 2025. He is genuinely invested in seeing me through this difficult recovery. As a result of me coming to the hospital emergency department today he is going to ask my surgeon to have an appointment with me.

I am caught in a cycle of the incision opening to drain for about 30 hours followed by the next few days to recover. Then my incision opens again. Each time this is having the same effect on me as when I had the operation on April 2nd. I am not getting my strength back. I am wanting to recover so I may have my right artificial hip replaced and then figure out what I have to work with and build a life around. This 7th hip surgery hasn't been easy or even a linear healing progression. I am starting to need my body to leave me alone so I may have some quality rest.
