The doctor that performed my colonoscopy just called. I contacted his office yesterday. I wanted to know if the medication for my microscopic colitis is going to interfere with having surgery. It is safe for me to have the operation with the medication for my colon and it won't interfere with the anesthetic. I really don't want to be doing something that injures me during the surgery itself. He doesn't want me to eat gluten. But if I want to have fresh fruit he is saying this won't get in the way now. That is really helpful to know. I don't want to go the rest of my life with diarrhea if it can be avoided. Since the diarrhea stopped he thinks my colon has recovered and the rest of the medication usage into May is to build my colon back to where it could fight off a recurrence.
