Walking To Recovery On Day 4
[ Tuesday April 28th 2026 at 12:03 pm ]

I have had 3 walks this morning. Two were 20 feet long. The third was 70 feet long with physiotherapy. The goal of the 70 feet long walk is building up my endurance.

With a hip replacement you are working the muscles when you are sitting and slightly repositioning. Typically with a hip replacement you will heal even if you are lazy about the physiotherapy.

With an artificial knee you have to decide you are going to get your motion back. It isn't automatic. The physiotherapist wants me to work on range of motion this afternoon. It is incredibly challenging. But I agree with the recommendation.

I am doing all this to get my life back and be able to get home. When I am home I will have Sir Barry The Hamster move in with me and see me through this recovery.
