Purchased Bagged Lunch Food Between Swims At The Therapy Pool

The warm water therapy pool I use is now on their fall 2026 schedule. Some of the timings have changed for the pool. Also my needs have evolved. I have now taken the time necessary to think through the needs of my recently replaced artificial right knee joint and the routine I am going to aim for in terms of my physiotherapy at the gym.

The past 3 weeks have been right proper hell using the Workout Room while the aquatic center was closed for it's annual preventative maintenance. Besides using a warm water therapy pool to do my physiotherapy and finding this easier than land based exercises the warmth of the water has also benefited me with being able to easier manage my chronic pain.

There is a "but". Unfortunately this time it is a big one. I am needing to do what is best for my body. Then as a result of what is doing best for my body figure out how to best address the fallout. I think what is best my recently replaced artificial knee joint is to use the Workout Room first. After this plan to use the warm water therapy pool for managing the pain this creates. Then if my knee is able to handle more after being in the warmth of the water and the time spent changing my clothes then aim to do between 20 to 30 minutes more in the Workout Room.

But this doesn't have to be "all or none". If there are days when the artificial knee joint can only handle the warm water therapy pool then I am okay with doing just this. I am trying to get my artificial right knee joint recovered from surgery. Normally there is only 12 weeks to make a recovery from knee replacement surgery. For some reason my body hasn't followed this rule. I am still making gains. This doesn't make medical sense. But it is the reality I am living. As long as my artificial knee joint is still making gains I need to keep working at it. I am prepared to do so. I want this artificial knee joint to do the best for me for the remainder of my life. I am willing to put in the effort now even though this is physically exhausting.

I have looked at the schedules for when the Workout Room and warm water therapy pool are available. What works out best is to use the Workout Room before lunch, bring and eat a bagged lunch occupy myself for about 40 minutes, use the warm water therapy pool and then if knee is able to handle more return to the Workout Room. I have made my way to the grocery store. I have purchased foods I can put together bagged lunches like when I take my camera down to the waterfront trails and have a picnic. I think this will work out. Otherwise if it isn't working I can always re-visit my decision making to figure out what needs to change.
